No. We lead with long-distance because that’s where missing someone hurts most — but Close Couples is for any couple who’s often apart: travel, opposite schedules, not living together yet. The reunion countdown gently steps aside for couples who are together, and everything else still fits.
Does my partner need the app too?
Yes — that’s the whole point. Close Couples only comes alive when both of you are in. You’ll send one warm link to bring them in, and while you wait, the app keeps you company rather than leaving you on a blank screen.

Close Couples Plus opens up the depth — unlimited Story history and HD photos, the full question library, custom moods, premium themes, and richer widgets. Every new couple gets all of Plus free for a while first (the clock starts when you pair), and one subscription covers both of you.
Is there a free trial — or a paywall I’ll hit?
It’s the opposite of a paywall. You start with the full experience free for a window of time. When it ends, nothing is locked away or deleted — you simply settle into the free tier, with your memories preserved and waiting. There’s never a wall at the front door asking you to pay before you can begin.
What happens to our memories if we break up?
We handle it gently. Either partner can unpair, and your shared memories are preserved for a window so both of you can export your own copy. Neither person can erase the other’s — a deliberate safeguard. No moment in a relationship deserves a cold, punishing app, least of all that one.
Which phones does it work on?
Both. Close Couples is built for iPhone and Android from day one, including mixed couples where one of you is on each. (The home-screen widget arrives first on iPhone.) Right now it’s in the works — join the waitlist and we’ll tell you the moment it’s live in your store.
Is my data private — do you track or sell it?
